Josh’s story
I am taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Bucket List Wishes (BLW). I have set myself this challenge to test myself physically, mentally and emotionally. I have recently found the love of hiking, walking and trekking due to me sustaining a knee injury during football which ultimately meant I had to give up playing - this broke me as many people who know me personally know how much I loved to play and how much the sport has impacted my life and fitness.
A little information about the National Three Peaks Challenge it involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowden) often within 24 hours.
The total walking distance of the challenge is approximately 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft).
BLW is a local charity that grants Wishes for terminally ill adults in and around the Berkshire area. Each Wish costs approx. £2000 and they aim to grant one Wish per month. BLW has a special place in my heart as I feel this is such a special memory to create in people’s last moments of their life - to be able to achieve the impossible for somebody, make them smile or create a memory for a family fills my heart with warmth and love. BLW is a non profit charity that work tirelessly to make the unimaginable happen.
My aim is to raise enough money to be able to fund one Wish - please help me change somebody’s last moments and create a memory for somebody who needs it the most in a time that is most dark.
