Cycle 4 The Nations’s story
Why Cotahuasi?:
To this day, there are many people groups still considered to be 'unreached' with the Good News of Jesus! Some of these peoples live on our very own doorsteps as migrants, refugees or asylum seekers...and some still remain in distant lands and in difficult to get to places. One of these are the Quechua speaking people of Cotahuasi, high up in the Peruvian mountains. For many years, cross-cultural workers have worked to bring the message of Jesus to the indigenous people of this area of the world. Since, many Peruvian and Quechua speaking believers have joined in the work. However, the vast majority of the Cotahuasi is still with limited to no access to the gospel message. Many continue to make the trek up into the mountain villages to bring the Good News of Jesus, but it's dangerous, takes time, costs money and requires resources. Cycle 4 The Nations is seeking to be a creative platform to raise funds to help the continued advancement of the gospel in Cotahuasi by funding expeditions to bring it where it has yet to go and to offer training to the local and indigenous believers who continue to advance the work! THE EVENT: FURTHER EAST (September 13-15, 2024):
This year, our fundraising event will be an ultra endurance cycling event called Further East. It is a 680km (420 miles) time trial through East Anglia, U.K. We have 48 hours to complete the race! Two of us at Cycle 4 The Nations will be competing (Thomas & C J). We have begun our training regiment, but have some effort to go before being prepared for the event!
WHAT IS THE GOAL?
We are starting with the goal of raising enough money to fund one trek up to Cotahuasi to bring the gospel message of Jesus to the Quechua speaking people. £2900 includes fuel for the off-road journey into the mountains, Bibles and Christian resources in the Quechua language, food and water aid and training/equipping resources. Our hope is that fundraising would go well and that we'd be able to double, triple or even quadruple the goal so as to fund as many treks as possible.
TRACKING AND FOLLOWING:
Closer to the event, we will have an online tracker set up for those interested in following our progress during the event. We will also be uploading video blogs (VLOGS) at Cycle 4 The Nations.

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.
