Leone’s story
38 colleagues and I will be taking on this year’s Charity Challenge hike in the Mourne Mountains of Northern Ireland. The route spans 18.4km over 10–11 hours, covering six of the region’s highest peaks, with a total ascent of around 1.5km.
We will be raising funds for our Charity of the Quarter, Pitt Hopkins UK.
Pitt Hopkins syndrome is an ultra-rare, lifelong genetic neurological condition that causes severe developmental delay, little or no speech, breathing abnormalities, epilepsy, and complex medical needs. Pitt Hopkins UK is the only charity in the country dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by the condition, and it is largely run by parents. The charity connects families who might otherwise feel isolated, provides trusted medical information, raises awareness among healthcare professionals to improve diagnosis and care, and supports research into the syndrome. Donations help ensure families are not facing Pitt Hopkins alone, while enabling understanding and support to continue to grow across the UK.
Please do give what you can to help me reach my fundraising target of £500.
Thank you for your support.
