Team Brian’s story
We are joining the Melanoma Focus 1000 challenge, in memory of Brian O’Donnell – who we lost in Nov 2020 to melanoma. We (Sally - Brian's wife, Daniel - Brian's son and Isabel - Daniel's partner) will be donning our walking boots, lacing up our running trainers, jumping in a cold lido, riding a bike or maybe even braving a kayak so we can cover the nearly 5 miles a day we each need. All to complete 1000 miles before 1st May 2022. Anyone who knew Brian, knew he loved a challenge. He ran the London Marathon, played football professionally, and trekked across the Sahara as part of the Marathon des Sables. We're sure that he probably would complete this challenge in a matter of weeks - so in a small way we’re honouring that spirit and we’re so proud to be supporting such a great charity and spreading awareness of melanoma. Melanoma is a form of skin cancer, often caused by too much sun exposure. Symptoms include a change to a mole, freckle or normal patch of skin. Sadly, melanoma is now the fifth most common cancer in the UK, with cases rapidly on the rise. We would be thrilled with any support you can give - either by giving a few pounds or by helping us spread the word. Or you can join us on one of our activities! You can follow our journey, and also how else we’re supporting the charity via the Instagram account - @inmemoryof_brian We’re also really happy to be using Wonderful.org as 100% of your donation will go to Melanoma Focus. Thank you so much for all your support. Sally, Daniel & Isabel
