Wildvixen’s story
Kirsty and Vixen have both experienced loss through cancer in their families so are running 10k for Cabaret Vs Cancer. A charity for which Vixen is an ambassador that raises money to support families, particularly children, who lose a loved one to this awful disease.
Kirsty lost her uncle Rick to cancer in 2013. Rick’s passing devastated the whole family, particularly his 7 year old son. Vixen lost both her dad in 1997 when she was just 15, and her mom in 2002. Both passed due to cancer.
We have both felt the indescribable loss that cancer causes in both of our families. The work Cabaret Vs Cancer do to support families and children impacted by cancer really does help. Everything from donating to family rooms in hospices, to paying for materials for memory boxes for children to make with their parents goes a long way. Helping children make sense of what is happening, creating positive memories and experiences at a painful time, and offering comfort in the darkest moments. We are proud to be running this 10k on 5th November in our families names. Rick, John & Pam. Gone but never forgotten. We run for you and all who suffer this disease in the hope that we can give a little light when people need it the most.
