Matt’s story
Hello all and thanks for visiting my sponsorship page.
I am again attempting the Round Britain Reliability Run. This year the charity is Parkinsons Research. This charity is close to my heart as my father is in the end stages of Parkinsons
I think most people realise Parkinsons effects the brain, most people may realise the trouble moving and the tremors. Parkinsons is terminal the tremors at the beginning can be manged with a cocktail of pills some to target Parkinsons some to target the side effects.
These pills only slow the inevitable, slowly Parkinsons will rob you of your independence and ability to care for yourself.
I wasn't prepared for the Dementia which came with Parkinsons though, again robbing you of the life you once had.
That's a very tiny bit of how bad Parkinsons is , to help raise some money, I am again tackling the Round Britain Reliability Run. This challenge is to undertake driving around 2000 miles in 48hours. The driving is undertake between myself any my co-driver, this time Mr Dave Faulkner will be joining me I have known Dave since school 40 odd years now! We aren't undertaking this drive in a comfy Range Rover or some reliable modern motor. This will be undertaken in a 1982 Triumph TR7. This is the reliability element, will the car rust to bits before the 48hours and 2000 miles are over . We dont have air conditioning or massage seats we sleep in the car taking turns in driving there are no overnight hotels.
Parksinsons is truly an awful disease please sponsor me and help fund the amazing work Parkinsons UK do.
