Christopher Charles’s story
We’re Team Stanley—a crew of terminal warriors by day, dragon boat paddlers by… well, today! Representing BP Isle of Grain, we’ve swapped hard hats for life vests and forklifts for paddles, all in support of our legendary teammate and friend, Stanley.
Tony Stanley recently suffered a stroke, and while he might not be on the boat with us physically, he’s 100% the heart of this team. We named our boat after him to show just how much he means to us—and we plan to paddle like absolute legends in his honour.
We might not have the fanciest strokes or Olympic-level form, but what we do have is grit, guts, and a whole lot of love for each other. At Isle of Grain, we’re not just colleagues—we’re family. So get ready to see a bunch of workmates-turned-racers give it their all (and probably a few sore muscles tomorrow).
