Joe’s story

As he approached his 90th Birthday Joe still maintains10,000 steps every day without fail come hail or shine.
While on one of his walks Joe thought he would like to do something that would benefit others, and not just himself. He came up with the idea to walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End commencing on July 6th this year, the day of his 90th birthday.
Joe hopes to raise £12,000 for five charitable institutions with meaningful ties to his family. Rotary Club of Kimbolton Castle Charitable Trust will administer and distribute the donations to the five charities, namely the Salvation Army (and specifically their work in Chickankata, Zambia), the RAF Benevolent Fund, the Brainstrust, Mwandi School for Aids Orphans, Zambia, and the International PolioPlus Programme. On achieving his target each will receive a minimum £2,000.
