Izzy’s story
Like everyone with sense, I want nothing more than to kick cancer squarely in the bollocks. Help me raise vital funds for a charity that is near and dear to my heart, Cabaret V Cancer.
In 2021, I very suddenly lost my dear friend and figurehead, Louise, to cancer. She was a pillar of my childhood and community, and an essential touchstone and friend to my family. The loss still doesn’t make sense to me 5 years later, and I think of her all the time. A skilled seamstress and creative, this world I find myself inhabiting, through everything I do and every adventure with Ben and Rose, is one I wish she were here to see. I see her still in every new flower that blooms.
I know firsthand the passion, love and joy that powers the Cabaret V Cancer ship, and the work they do is beyond impressive, and vital to those who carry it out and those who it helps.
Since becoming a registered charity in 2016, Cabaret Vs Cancer has been turning compassion (and iconic cabaret shows) into action, raising money to award grants to a range of incredible cancer support charities. The money raised ensures these cancer charities can provide care, comfort, and advice when it matters most.
They are SO close to raising a staggering half a MILLION in funds to help families tackling the destruction cancer can leave in its wake, so please please donate anything you can so I can cauterise my tootsies for the cause, and help them meet their monumental target this October.
