Danny’s story
Seven years ago, I completed a coast-to-coast fundraising bike ride to support CatZero. This summer, it’s time to do it again, riding from Liverpool to Hull along the Trans Pennine Trail.
As I dusted off the old touring bike for training, everything was creaking… the bike and the body. Neither of us are getting any younger.
But this ride feels different for another reason.
This time, it’s about beginning to hand over the baton to the next generation of Watsons. Meet Freddie, aged 11. We’ve been training together and plan to complete the full 170 miles side by side.
We’re raising money for CatZero to support the fundraising campaign for essential works on the yacht, helping ensure she can continue transforming the lives of young people and the long-term unemployed by building resilience, confidence, teamwork, and self-belief - supporting them into positive futures.
