Johnathon’s story
I will be cycling 209 miles to raise money for the charity BETTER THINGS, a small independent charity which helps people with learning disabilities and autism (it's also one of Saturn Visual Solutions' charity partners).
Better Things helps people to learn new skills, develop self-confidence, improve their employment prospects, deal with practical problems, and generally improve their quality of life.
The first of two challenges is ‘The Nello‘ on Sunday 25th June. This race starts in Topsham and will involve cycling all the way to North Devon and back round! This ride is 100 miles long and involves 6000ft of climbing.
The second challenge is ‘The Dartmoor classic.’ This race starts in Newton Abbot and involves cycling around Dartmoor on Sunday 1st July. This is one of the hardest cycle sportive challenges in the UK. To add pressure, I shall be aiming to complete this in ‘gold‘ time. This race is 109 miles and involves 9600ft of climbing.
The combined hill climbs for both one-day challenges will be 15,766 ft, almost the same height of Mont Blanc (15,780 ft), the highest mountain in Western Europe.

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.
