James’s story
My 6 year old son recently joined a Beaver colony run by the 1st Chandlers Ford scout group and is absolutely loving all the activities, opportunities and friendships it affords him. The downside is that the scout group is run from a building that is now 100 years old and in desperate need of replacement to make sure that the scout group continues to have a safe and secure environment to operate from for many more years to come. To do this they have started a major fund raising drive, and I have (foolishly? optimistically?) decided to participate in a Runuary challenge to help raise funds - the aim is to complete a 5km run or walk every day in January, a total of 155km in the coldest, rainiest month of the year!
To make it all worthwhile I would really appreciate any money you could donate to this cause - even £1 will make a difference to all the children that attend the various beavers, cubs and scouts groups run by the 1st Chandlers Ford Scouts. I'm aiming to raise at least £155 (£1 for each km completed) so anything you can do to help will be fantastic.
