Ed and Sam’s story
We are very shortly running a big old 26.2 miles around sunny Tromsø. The Midnight Sun Marathon is now just 3 weeks away, so any and all donations to the charity we are running in support of, Fiona Foundation for Kids, will be much appreciated and contribute to the great work they do.
Fiona Foundation for Kids helps to ensure children, especially those facing difficult lives, have enough food, have enough fun and have the chance to stay with their family and thrive, not just survive. They do this by working with partners locally and globally, for example through Fi Day Care Centre, which now supports up to 30 families in Kenya in partnership with Tushinde Children's Trust. They do this by providing two meals a day and a safe space for babies and pre-school children, allowing their parents (usually very young single mothers) to work so they can provide for their families. This partnership began in 2017, and was a vital lifeline of support for families throughout the pandemic.
More recently, FFfK has been helping Ukrainian families with kids who have arrived in the UK and are living across Buckinghamshire. Donating £10 could help provide swimming lessons, £15 could buy bike helmets for two kids, or £20 a pair of football boots. This support gives these children a chance to feel included and to find joy and some normality in an incredibly difficult time of their lives, as all children should be able to do.
