Genevieve’s story
For many years 12 year old Genevieve has been a swimmer, and also a beaver, cub and now a scout. To fundraise for the rebuild of her scout hut in Chandlers Ford, Genevieve is determined to swim 3km, that's 120 lengths of a 25 metre pool.
Now, although she may swim nearly this in some training sessions, she would never be swimming it in one go, without a break. She can swim it in whatever stroke she chooses, but it must be without stopping. That's the challenge!
Thanks to her swimming club, Winchester City Swimming Club, Genevieve will be doing this on Sunday 25 May, from 6pm, during a training session. Do feel free to come down and cheer her on at Winchester Sports Centre, Bar End Road, SO23 9NR.
