Alex’s story
Over the next couple of weeks I will be doing the Great North Run and competing in the Weymouth 70.3 Ironman in aid of The Oswin Project.
The Oswin Project is a North East charity which aims to break the re-offending cycle through finding long-term employment for prison leavers. They do this by mentoring and training individuals as well as sourcing paid employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
Did you know - it costs approximately £44,600 to keep someone in prison for a year, and re-offending costs the UK £18.1 billion per year. Whichever way you look at it, The Oswin Project are doing some groundbreaking stuff - any donations would be greatly appreciated so they can continue the good work.
Although I am a keen swimmer and runner, I completely despise cycling, so the Ironman presents a difficult challenge (and that is just getting into the Lycra).
