Medeeha’s story
As Salaamu Alaykum
During this blessed month, I am working with Ihsan Global Relief to raise money for food parcels, for Pakistan, Türkiye and Gambia. The cost of one food parcel is only £50 and it will feed a family for the entire month of Ramadan!
The Prophet (saw) said, ‘Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person' [Tirmidhi]
The people of Pakistan, Türkiye and Gambia need us. Can you imagine a life where you you wake up every morning with no food to eat, worrying about where the next meal is going to come from for your family? Going to bed, hungry, every single night having barely eaten and still fasting for the entire day. Imagine watching your child cry out from hunger and not be able to fulfil your child’s basic needs.
Food and water are basic necessities for survival. When regular healthy meals are not accessible, children struggle to attend school, care givers struggle to work, and communities are left battling to survive. A drastic 828 million people go hungry each and every day in some of the world’s poorest communities.
