Like all the best ideas, this one started in the pub!
We’re proud (and slightly nervous!) to be taking part in this brilliant bi-annual event, which challenges teams to cover 2,000 miles in just 48 hours—driving a classic Triumph of your choice.
We’ve been friends for over 40 years, ever since meeting during our Engineering Apprenticeship. A shared love of motorsport, classic cars, and the occasional pint has kept us connected ever since. Over a drink one evening, we decided it was time to tick this epic road trip off our bucket list.
George does have a Triumph Stag, but the idea of tackling October weather in a 50-year-old soft top felt like tempting fate—so we went in search of another classic Triumph to join the fleet. We’re now the proud owners of a 1970 Triumph 2000 Mk2, which we’ll be preparing for the challenge between now and the big day.
We’re covering all the costs ourselves, so 100% of your donations will go directly to Parkinson’s UK, a cause close to our hearts. It’s a fantastic charity doing life-changing work, and we’re thrilled to be supporting them through this adventure.
