Andy’s story
On Sunday 4th October 2026, I’ll be running a half marathon (13.1 miles!) to raise money for Cost of Cancer, a UK charity that supports people facing the financial impact of cancer.
When someone is diagnosed with cancer, the focus is rightly on treatment and recovery. But behind the scenes, many families are also facing an overwhelming financial burden — from travel to hospital appointments and increased household bills to lost income. The “cost” of cancer goes far beyond health.
That’s where Cost of Cancer steps in — providing vital financial support and practical help to individuals and families when they need it most.
Taking on a half marathon is a huge personal challenge for me. There will definitely be moments where my legs are questioning my life choices — but knowing I’m running to support people going through something far tougher will keep me going every step of the way.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean so much. Every contribution helps ease the pressure on someone already facing one of the hardest times of their life.
Thank you so much for your support — and for helping turn miles into meaningful impact.
