HoverAid’s story

HoverAid is a small humanitarian charity delivering development and relief projects to isolated communities in Madagascar. Utilising hovercraft technology for the international community, HoverAid is ‘Reaching the Unreachable’ populations that other aid organisations cannot.
Hovercraft enable Hoveraid to access remote communities to deliver health programmes, repair schools and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) facilities, and provide emergency relief in response to disasters. Madagascar’s Rural Accessibility Index is estimated at a global low of 11.4%, leaving 16.9 million people across the country without access to quality road infrastructure (World Bank, 2019). Therefore, most aid organisations find it too difficult or expensive to extend their programmes to these populations. However, since 2006, HoverAid have operated in Madagascar and built strong relationships with local authorities and people in some of its remotest communities.
Global Expat Pay are excited to team up with HoverAid UK to launch HOPPERAID in Windsor Great Park - a team relay race on space hoppers! Raising funds for HoverAid's work using less conventional modes of transport to reach people with aid.
We will be hosting a team relay race on space hoppers on 7th September 2023, with a FUNdraising target of £5,000.
Please spread the word, share our fundraising link, or contact us if you want to join in!
Thank you.
