GOUDHURST & KILNDOWN SMUGGLERS MARATHON

A group of fabulous staff, parents and friends of Goudhurst and Kilndown Primary School will be setting off on Saturday 16th May for the huge challenge of walking a marathon distance circuit starting and finishing at Goudhurst & Kilndown Primary School. It is an undulating, hilly route which traces some of the trails likely used in the 18th century by notorious smugglers including the infamous Hawkhurst Gang. The route passes through Goudhurst, Cranbrook, Hawkhurst, Bedgebury and Kilndown before returning to Goudhurst.

This is all in a great effort to raise money for three incredible charities:

1) Goudhurst & Kilndown Primary School PTFA: Money raised will go towards outdoor learning including; outdoor shelters, planters, a new designated digging area, two replacement pieces of play equipment and new benches and table tops.

2) Young Minds: Young Minds are the UK’s leading charity for children and young people’s mental health. They want to see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health, and all young people get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.

3) Kent Search and Rescue: This is a charitable organisation supporting the community by their dedication in assisting the emergency services in the search for missing persons. Kent Search and Rescue is manned 100% by volunteers who are provided with extensive training.
