Laura’s story
This year I am taking on the challenge of running 3 half marathons (Westport, Limerick and Glenbeigh) to raise money for the Transplant Games Recreational Fund (TGRF)
The Transplant Games Recreational Fund makes it possible for the GOSH Renal team to attend the British Transplant Games. This year the games will be held in Sheffield and GOSH Renal are already excited to participate!!
The transplant games is an inspiring event that encourages transplant recipients of all ages to participate in sport, celebrates organ donors and their families, and raises awareness for organ donation.
During my time working in Great Ormond Street Hospital I started attending the Transplant Games with the GOSH Renal Team. I have seen first hand how important this event is for transplant patients and their families.
I have grown to cherish these trips and have had the privilege of watching some children return year after year—seeing them grow in confidence, strength, and independence. These events show just how powerful sport, community, and hope can be.
The TGRF helps families come to the games for a minimal cost. If you could help with a donation the GOSH Renal team and I would really appreciate it. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps make this possible.
Thank you for your support.
