Samantha’s story
Dear friends
Andrea and I will be doing the 10K Moonlit Walk on Friday 8 September for Icare, a local charity in Bromley who help people, who have had a stroke, with their rehabilitation, in the form of physio and speech therapy and social groups as well as giving respite to their carers.
They need to raise £30,000 to keep open as they face closure at the end of the year if this amount is not raised.
I personally saw how they helped a friend's Mum. It was tremendous. I sometimes attend their quizzes which help members in socialising and memory skills.
I also spent 7 weeks in hospital in a rehabilitation ward where a lot of the patients had had strokes and would benefit from the services Icare provide.

I will be walking at the start of each kilometre for a bit and wheeling the rest.
Andrea will be walking and pushing me when necessary, a challenge in itself!
