Stuart’s story
Hello
I am a 4th year Zoology and Bioscience student at UWS. I also volunteer at, and am a committee member of the Lamont Farm Project in Erskine.
The Lamont Farm Project offered me a chance to volunteer and build my animal care skills. They open their doors to anyone who wishes to volunteer, sharing their knowledge and providing people with skills and support in this area. Lamont Farm promotes animal welfare, and advises and educates people within the community.
The Farm is a very special community and animal welfare project. If you visit, you can meet so many animals including ducks, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, llamas, donkeys, sheep and goats.
The farm aims to rescue, care for and rehome as many animals as possible. The animals who cannot be rehomed stay at Lamont Farm to be forever loved and cared for by us, and the community.
The farm desperately needs money in order to keep loving and caring for the animals, and to keep its doors open for the community. It's going to be a hard winter.
I have been wanting to quit smoking for a while now, and I know it's going to be tough, but I thought it would be good if two good things could come out of this. I make a positive change for my health and wellbeing, and get to support a charity that I love so much.
I know times are tough for everyone just now, but if there is anything you can give, no matter how small, to sponsor me in this endeavour, I would be so grateful.
Thank you for reading
