Eden House Sponsored Bike Ride
On Saturday 19th September, we are planning a sponsored cycling event to benefit the residents of the Eden House care home in Coventry and we’d love your help, participation and support!
There are several aspects to the day and we hope that you can play your part to help to make it a success, as explained below.
Eden House Care Home welfare committee do a marvellous job laying on events and activities for the residents of Eden House. This includes things like minibus trips out in the local area for afternoon tea, entertainment in the home, treats to celebrate special occasions etc. All of these things help to provide variety and stimulation for the residents. As you may recall, we have organised sponsored bike rides from Leicester Westleigh to Eden House in previous years and it’s always been good fun and has also enabled us to raise funds to support this work, so we are planning to re-run this again, on Saturday 19th September. A 50 mile bike ride might make your legs ache a bit the next day if you’re not a regular cyclist, but it’ll be worth it for a good cause! An e-bike could be the answer and anyone with one of these would be very welcome. Feel free to just do half the ride if you can figure out a way of getting your bike back from Coventry, or share the ride with a friend!!
The Ride

The plan is to meet at Westleigh hall at 9:00am for a 9:30am start. There will be several stops along the way for refreshments brought for us by our support vehicle, which will also be available to take coats etc, so there will be no need for riders to carry any luggage on their bikes.
Eden House residents always appreciate visitors to chat to, and so the management at the home have kindly agreed to provide a light lunch for the cyclists, but if anyone would like to show support by meeting us there, you’d be most welcome. Please just let us know if you’d like to join us for lunch so we know how many to expect. The moral support would be appreciated by the riders, and the Eden House residents will appreciate any social time that we’re all able to share with them.
We’ll probably be back in Leicester about 6:30pm ish.
Even if you’re unable to join us for the ride, or the lunch at Eden House, you needn’t feel left out! Instead, your donations to this most worthy cause would be very much appreciated, of course.

You’ll notice that the fundraising link mentions Leicester Westleigh. This is a registered charity, which means that if you’re a taxpayer, you’ll be able to allow gift-aid to be claimed to add to the value you’ll be generating. All funds raised will be passed on to the Eden House welfare committee treasurer for the benefit of residents
