Alwyn’s story
We are a local group (established in 2013) run by Carers and Volunteers for Carers and Persons living with Dementia. The group offers friendship, contact, support, and a framework to regularly meet up with other Carers and Persons living with Dementia in a safe and social environment, along with planning and subsidising regular events and outings for members. Weekly social events are held each Monday between 1pm and 3pm in Denton with light refreshments, activities (bingo/quizzes) and entertainment. Monthly outings and/or activities arranged which include: Ten Pin Bowling, Afternoon Teas, Meals, Coach Trips, Boat Trips etc.
Mum and Dad have attended Forget-Me-Not Buddies for many years and they have been a lifeline in a time of need. As a family, we would like to thank them for their amazing support over the years. We are raising money for this charity in the hopes that they will be able to continue their service and help other families the way they have helped us.
