Joe’s story
This fundraising challenge has been inspired by my commitment to run the 2022 London Marathon, a distance of 26.2 miles, on October 2nd. The funds raised will support pupils with additional extra-curricular opportunities such as competing in more sports competitions, visiting local events in small groups and of course keeping the costs down for some school trips. Those who know me well, will realize how close this part of school life is to my heart as I am happiest when supporting and providing extracurricular sporting activities for pupils.
This term we are also challenging Newbridge Primary School pupils to put on their running shoes, be active and raise money towards supporting our wider opportunities offer.
All pupils will participate in a sponsored fund raising event, which will promote our school values of Citizenship and Personal Development. The Lower School children will complete different exercises, 26 times e.g., 26 star jumps, 26 hops. Upper School children will run as many laps as possible around our course in 26 minutes.
I hope this challenge inspires and motivates the young children to be active and support a great cause.
Thanks!
Joe Newman
