Rowan’s story

I'm Rowan, father to Summer who attends the Grange School in Cheshire and I've decided to join 9 parents and teachers to dance in a Strictly come Dancing competition. The purpose of this fundraising is to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which is a massively underfunded and under researched charity with currently no known cure for this disease.
I have never danced before except from jumping around to rock music or swaying from side to side to a slow ballad, so I am a complete beginner when it comes to anything ballroom. Here's 'The Twist', Fortunate in my life to have always been active, I unexpectedly had a cardiac arrest 3 years ago, and without the aid of the Grange Dads who helped me that evening I wouldn't be here today. Therefore I have grasped this opportunity to help raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease Association supported by the school which means so much to me and my daughter.
Now let's gets to the 'Pointe ' having the opportunity to throw on my dancing shoes to help raise money for this amazing charity is a privilege. I am already looking forward to embracing this new challenge, throwing some epic shapes in a wonderful costume and learning a new skill to raise awareness and some funds. After all, why would you never dance with a horse? Because they have 2 left feet.
Let's all get hit with a bad case of 'Saturday Night Fever' dig deep and support this charity as best we 'Can Can'.
Progress updates will follow on how training is going so please look out for these and give what you can in sponsorship by following the links attached.
Many Thanks in anticipation of your support.
