Jo’s story
If you know me, you'll know I love walking and am always keen to try new routes and challenges, but usually there is a good pair of boots between my feet and the ground. On 2 March, though, I'll be trying something completely new and will be shedding the boots to 'stroll' barefoot across 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1236 degrees Fahrenheit!
Yes, it is a bit of an extreme way to try to warm up my usually cold feet, but it's all for a fabulous cause: to help raise money for the charity CABERET VS CANCER which supports those affected by cancer.
CABERET VS CANCER works with child bereavement teams in local hospices to ensure they have the tools and support they need to help children who are losing or have lost a close relative. Additionally, the charity works with various organisations who support people currently living with a cancer diagnosis, and organisations supporting people with loss and grief.
