Danny’s story
A group of 12 cyclists are completing the cycle to Lourdes to raise money for charity.
Any money that is raised on my page will go into the main pot, but will be then be equally split between a few charities of my choosing. The charities are
The Lourdes Children and Families Trust
The Christie
Diabetes UK
Macmillan Cancer Support
As a group we are doing this to raise funds for The Lourdes Children and Families Trust. The Trust has over 10 years’ experience of supporting families to enjoy pilgrimage holidays to the Catholic Marian Shrine of Lourdes, South West France. They prioritise the support of families with special needs and enable them to travel as part of a pilgrimage community of families to ensure that we create memories and friendships that last a lifetime.
I am raising for The Christie, who are leading experts in treating cancer, and have been outstanding whilst treating my mum, who was diagnosed with cancer September 2022. I do this with hope that others can be treated just as well, and cured using their facilities. Diabetes UK aim for a world where diabetes causes no harm, I have chosen this charity in memory of my Dad, who suffered with diabetes and took a lot of time managing it.
Finally, Macmillan Cancer Support, who have helped my mum(and thousands of others) deal with her cancer diagnosis, giving comfort and support as well as explaining the processes.
All cyclists taking part are self-funded, donating their own money and time to the cause.
Any donation that can be made would be greatly appreciated, and will go to help these wonderful charities.
