Daisy’s story
Brother and Sister, Charlie and Daisy are taking on Threshold's Big Swindon Sleepout on the 3.12.21 to raise awareness of homelessness at the worst time of the year.
The number of young homeless people in England this Christmas could reach a five-year high, according to homelessness charity Centrepoint. The charity, which works with under-25s, predicts over 29,000 18-24-year-olds face being homeless this year which may be due to the end of furlough, a drop in universal credit payments, and the cost of living going up.
An estimated 688 homeless people died last year - an 11.6% drop from 778 estimated deaths in 2019.
With these crazily high stats, we are hoping to raise some money for a special cause, very close to our hearts. As temperatures drop to below 0 degrees, what better time to show our support and try to understand how awful it is for those without a home and to give up our luxuries for just 1 night.
The event will be taking place on the 3rd of December in Swindon where we will meet with 60 other people to champion the issue and come together in the hope of raising awareness and money for the supportive charity Threshold.
Dig deep and please support us as much as you can. Every penny counts.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Charlie and Daisy xx
