Riding for Nature Recovery

This is my Heal Rewilding cycling jersey. At the end of May I'll be putting it on proudly to complete the 100+ miles of the Ride London-Essex sportive for Heal Rewilding of which I'm a charity Trustee. We established Heal at the start of lockdown with a simple mission: Raise money. Buy land. Rewild it. We aim to have a Heal in every English county.

In early 2023, after three years of fund and loan raising through the pandemic, we acquired our first site in early 2023 - a disused 460-acre industrial farm in Somerset. It is our foundation site on which we are currently working hard to prepare for opening.

The reason we are doing this is to give land back to nature, forever. It’s vital a because the UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world, ranking 189^th for biodiversity. This matters with 41% of animal species in decline and 1 in 10 UK species threatened with extinction.

So, we’re creating spaces where nature can flourish and plant and animal species and humans can recover. It will also combat climate change in four different ways. Everyone will be able to come and enjoy the peace that immersion in nature brings.

In the last few weeks before the 30^th May, I’m training hard for this challenge. Please help Heal by giving whatever you can and encourage me to go the extra mile for nature. I'm aiming to raise £3000 - one thousand for every year that we've been working on Heal.
