catherine’s story

In Spring 2025, Wiltshire father of three, Richard Haddow, will run 3 Ultra Marathons. He is fundraising for Youth and Children's Mental Health support charity 'Create Hope.' Richard aims to run a total of 156K, nearly 100 miles. The 3 events take place on 29th March in Bath, 26 April in the Mendip hills and 17 May, Eryri - Snowdonia.
Youth and Children's Mental Health has deteriorated since lockdown, with 20.3% of young people now expected to need extra support between the ages of 8-16yrs (NHS 2023) and long waiting lists for support services.
The money raised will enable Create Hope to provide Mental Health therapy sessions in schools and other settings across Wiltshire and Berkshire. Richard said, 'For all of us, Covid Lockdowns brought huge challenges, but for children and young people the impact was particularly severe and the consequences are still being experienced by many. There is a massive need for accessible mental health services to meet the growing demand for therapeutic care. Every £1 donated helps make these services more available at affordable cost to those families who need it most.'
Please support us. If you would like to find out more about the services we offer please take a look at our website https://www.createhopeuk.org/ or email us at [email protected]
