Jane’s story
We are reaching out with urgency and hope on behalf of 14-year-old *Rhea who is currently facing a life-threatening, high-risk pregnancy. She is expecting monochorionic monoamniotic (MoMo) twins—a rare and extremely delicate condition where the babies share both the placenta and the amniotic sac. This type of pregnancy carries significant risks, including cord entanglement, premature birth, and complications that could endanger both the mother and her babies.
At just 14 years old, her body is not yet fully developed to safely carry such a complex pregnancy. She requires specialised medical care, including frequent ultrasounds, close monitoring by a gynaecological specialist, possible hospitalisation, and ultimately a carefully planned preterm delivery via caesarean section. Without this level of care, the chances of survival for both the mother and the twins are dangerously low.
We are appealing for help to cover:
- Regular antenatal check-ups and specialist consultations
- Ultrasound scans and diagnostic procedures
- Nutritional support and medications
- Hospital admission for close monitoring if necessary
- Safe delivery and neonatal intensive care for the twins
