Owen’s story
In 2018 we both walked Hadrian's Wall to raise awareness of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe's unjust imprisonment in Iran. We plan to cover another eighty-four miles each as part of the London to Tehran Challenge to shine a spotlight on all of those being detained in Iran..
Why the challenge?
Three years after our first sponsored walk, the Iranian authorities continue to arbitrarily detain dual-national citizens in horrendous conditions. Amnesty International are currently working to support Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, Anoosheh Ashoori and Mehran Raoof but it is unknown how many other British-Iranians may be currently held in Iran. We want the London to Tehran Challenge to shine a spotlight on their cases and put pressure on the UK government to use all the tools at its disposal to ensure that unjustly detained British citizens are freed and able to return home to their loved ones in the UK.
Fundraising Targets
All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.
