Friends of Worplesdon School’s story
Fundraising is now under way for a new all-weather Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Worplesdon Primary School for use by all primary school aged children in the area.
The MUGA, targeted to open Autumn 2027, aspires to be a Sports Centre of Excellence offering professional after school/weekend training from top local clubs and sport focused holiday camps for all primary school age children in the locality.

Worplesdon Primary School (WPS) secured planning permission to build a state-of-the-art MUGA back in 2025. We're now working overtime to secure the funding. We want to see ball games at break times, a mile walked a day around the new track, and our young budding athletes being given opportunities to thrive in all sorts of sports from netball, football and basketball to dodgeball, futsal, athletics, volleyball and more. School holidays will see a variety of sports camps running, led by professionals and guest coaches. We already have long lists of clubs, coaches and community groups who want to setup at the new MUGA and make it their permanent home.
