Mark’s story
From July 19th to July 29th I will be joining a team cycling from Salford to Lourdes in the South of France (approximately 1,200 km cycling distance in 11 days). We are doing this to raise funds for The Lourdes Children and Families Trust. The Trust has over 10 years’ experience of supporting families to enjoy pilgrimage holidays to the Catholic Marian Shrine of Lourdes. They prioritise the support of families with special needs and enable them to travel as part of a pilgrimage community of families to ensure that we create memories and friendships that last a lifetime.
All cyclists are self-funding, have donated their own time and money to the cause and most will also act as volunteers during the pilgrimage week on arrival. On arrival in Lourdes, I will be joining the Salford Diocesan Pilgrimage while continuing to support the CAFt pilgrimage during the week that both pilgrim groups will spend at the shrine.
