Amber’s story
I am hosting this fundraiser in memory of my Dad, who I lost to suicide 2 years ago. Using my platform to raise awareness for mental health and supporting the local community has helped me through difficult periods of grief and with your help we have raised £1,170 in his name, so far.
This year I am going to be fundraising for a charity close to home. The Wave Project is a surf therapy charity supporting young people by transforming their lives through surfing. My brother is hoping to join one of their surf therapy courses in Dorset this year and I truly believe the work they do is life changing.
As a sailing, windsurfing and wingsurf instructor it has always been a passion of mine to get more people into watersports. The values of The Wave Project are so intertwined with my own that the moment I became aware of their work I knew I had to fundraiser for them.
