Neil’s story
On Saturday 20th June 2026 I will be in Northen Ireland to take part in the Mountains of Mourne 6 Peak Challenge to raise money for the charity Pitt Hopkins UK. Over elevations higher than 1500m I will be aiming to reach six of the most iconic summits on the mountain range including Slieve Donard, the highest mountain in Northern Ireland.
Pitt‑Hopkins syndrome is an ultra‑rare, lifelong genetic neurological condition that causes severe developmental delay, little or no speech, breathing abnormalities, epilepsy and complex medical needs, placing huge emotional and practical strain on families. Pitt Hopkins UK, supports a work colleague whose child suffers from the condition and is the only charity in the UK dedicated specifically to supporting children and adults with this condition. Run largely by parents, it connects families who would otherwise feel isolated, provides trusted medical information, raises awareness among healthcare professionals to improve diagnosis and care, and works to support future research into problems associated with the syndrome. Donations help ensure families are not left to face Pitt‑Hopkins alone and that hope, understanding and support continue to grow across the UK.
Both and I and the charity would really appreciate any support you could give me in getting to my target. Thank you!
