Sage’s story
I'm walking barefoot across fire for the friends cancer took too soon. This year, cancer has taken four people I loved.
Two dear friends to throat cancer. One friend to breast cancer. Another to cancer that spread throughout their body.
Grief has a way of making you feel powerless.
So on Sunday 11th October, I'll be doing something that scares me: walking barefoot across fire to raise money for Cabaret vs Cancer, so that more people facing cancer—and the people who love them—receive the support they deserve.
Fire represents courage, resilience and transformation. For me, this isn't about proving I can walk across hot coals. It's about turning grief into action.
Every step I take across that fire will be for the people I carry in my heart, and for every family navigating a cancer diagnosis right now.
Why Cabaret vs Cancer?Since becoming a registered charity in 2016, Cabaret vs Cancer has been turning compassion into action through extraordinary fundraising events, supporting organisations that help people affected by cancer and providing vital resources for bereavement support.
Every penny raised helps make a difference to people who need it most.
My goalI need to raise at least £150 to take part in the Fire Walk, but I'd love for us to go far beyond that.
Whether you can give £5, £10 or £50, every donation is a reminder that none of us has to face this alone.
If you're unable to donate, sharing this page is another beautiful way to help.
Thank you for helping me honour the friends I've lost by supporting people who still need hope.
