Ben’s story
🏍🥊Alright everyone im Ben Tagliarini aka BigBen.
Hoping to raise money to help Boxing Charity 'The Ringside Charitable Trust' by people sponsoring me/donating to the charity for me doing this ride, to Raise awareness and help a little by riding my motorbike from Colchester in Essex then Around Cornwall, Devon and Cheddar Gorge!
Im leaving Saturday 4th July and Will be returning Wednesday 8th July, aiming for 1000 miles, im a lorry driver and travelling by bike is alot harder lol, people are dangerous don’t see you on the road or not paying attention, however like breathing riding a motorbike is a must for me, helps me function with my Autism Adhd and Dislexia, be my first big ride!
it will be my 1st big ride and holiday away on a bike, bought a new bike for the ride also, its going to be very tiring but alot fun also.
Why this charity matters
Like myself, many people have had help from coaches at amateur boxing clubs and, for some, at professional clubs too. Without these coaches and volunteers who give up their free time, often for no pay, many boxers would never have made it in the sport or in life.
Boxing is often seen as a poor man’s sport and some people think of it as a thugs’ sport, but many also see it as a gentleman’s sport. People from all races and backgrounds mix together in clubs, get along, and look out for one another.
The discipline, structure, and support in the gym keep a lot of people out of trouble, and that is down to the coaches and everyone involved who quietly help people, including me, over the years.
Ringside Charitable Trust aims to change how we care for our boxing family by creating a specialist care home with medical support, short‑ and long‑term care, and a safe place for ex‑boxers to live with dignity, similar to what exists in other sports but is still missing in boxing.
*What the charity does
Provides support for ex‑boxers affected by depression, alcohol or substance abuse, illness, injury, and the long‑term effects of fighting.
▪︎Plans to build a dedicated residential home of around 36 beds, with medical facilities, social spaces, and a place where former fighters can live among people who understand their journeys.
To give something back to the sport and to those people who helped me
on my motorbike to raise money for Ringside Charitable Trust.
I will post updates, photos, and stories of the people I meet along the way
“All donations from this page go to Ringside Charitable Trust, charity number 1185462”).
▪︎Everyone will need there own insurance and bikes need to be road worthy and I Ben Tagliarini do not take any responsibility for anyone but myself on this ride, or any wrong doings by anyone.
▪︎All funds raised for the Ringside Charitable Trust Charity will be going to them only!
If any money has been raised I will post it so everyone can see along with photos also.
▪︎Im not working for anybody nore will I be receiving payments from this charity nore anyone else for this ride, it is purely for fun relaxing time out on my bike while trying to raise awareness and show my support for ex boxers in need.
Im looking forward to this ride, ive wanted to do a Charity ride for long time now and will be working independently on this!
Any Boxing Promoters thinking of starting to send money over for every ticket sold you will be able to claim it back in tax, just saying.
Boxers not looked after enough and I believe the promoters need to secure the boxers future so a care homes can be built as a retirement plan
some boxers make it some dont and the Ringside Charitable Trust is there to help and if anyone else whilling to help do a good deed then go for it as its the right thing to do!
