Hello and thank you for visiting our fundraising page. My name is Leon and together with my family we kindly ask to support our worthy cause which is to raise funds to build an all weather multi use games areas (MUGA) at my school.
The King’s School is a small school in the village of Fair Oak, Eastleigh. For sports we use grassed areas which are unusable in winter or when it rains as the surface becomes soggy and muddy. My school has to rent a MUGA pitch in another village in order for our pupils to have sports activities in all weather. However, it is a bit remote and it takes away from time we have for sports activities and is also costly for the school.
The King’s School needs to raise £110,000 for MUGA. If you can help us towards the MUGA pitch cost, the parents and the pupils will be endlessly grateful for this kind gesture.
What we are doing:
As an appreciation for your kindness, my mother has crocheted 25 bird nests for HART Wildlife Rescue which provide rescue, treatment and rehabilitation service for a few thousand of wildlife every year in Hampshire and surrounding counties. The crochet nests will be used to keep orphaned, injured or sick baby birds and small mammals (e.g. baby squirrels, baby hare or fox pups) cosy and warm. For this challenge I donated my pocket money towards buying yarn as I am very slow at crocheting.
Thank you very much for reading our fundraising message and for your support!
Leon and Victoria
The nests are now with HART Wildlife Rescue
Updates on our progress:
Week 1 - we have crocheted 7 wonderful bird nests.
Week 2 - we have purchased more yarn and have completed crocheting our 10th nest.
Sunday - we have started working on our 11th nest. It's going to be a big 7' nest so it might take two days to complete.
Week 3 - we are on nests 13 and 14.
Week 4 - we have purchased more yarn and so far, we have completed 19 nests!
We are nearly there!
Week 5 - we have crocheted the last 5 nests and one extra from Leon; 25 nests in total!
