Pip’s story
I have signed up for Ride 25 - cycling 800 miles in 8 days - Tijara (south of Delhi) to Kathmandu. Any excuse to get back to Kathmandu but this one is a little extreme.
Ride 25 have been raising money for charities since they started it supports 1more child which gives abandoned and vulnerable children in Uganda a family home, schooling and medical care; supporting them into work and independence. Lyra works mainly with young girls in Tanzania to support them to finish their education. It works in secondary schools improving classrooms, water, sanitation and teaching. These charity's rely on ride 25 for their income, are small and have minimal UK overheads. So your money goes further.
This year they will also be donating to a relief charity for Nepal after the recent flooding disaster.
The ride itself is fully funded by the people cycling.

If you did fancy supporting any of these organisations it would be great if you could via this page. Nepal is where I cut my teeth in the humanitarian/development work space when I was 18, a small organisation that made us learn Nepali, live with Nepalese families and taught us a lot about the culture there and more broadly the complexities of development work. So am excited and hugely fortunate to be able to get back after so many years. I am looking forward to dusting off my Nepali and seeing what I can remember!
