Tumaini Scotland’s story
Tumaini Fund Scotland partner with TOSO (Tumaini Orphan Support Organisation) as they serve almost 200,000 orphans and widows in Kagera, NW Tanzania. The care is provided by a dedicated team of Parish Workers, who each may care for over a hundred orphans in very remote settings. To help resource them in order that they may be better equipped to visit families, we would like to raise funds for bicycles for the Parish Workers that need them, alongside jackets and boots for all.
On a recent visit to Tanzania we were privileged to meet with many Parish Workers at a workshop, and one of the biggest challenges shared by the team was difficulty travelling to families, often compounded by the rainy season when a lack of adequate footwear/jackets make it hard to cover the rural terrain.
TOSO have partnered with another NGO and are able to buy bicycles locally for £70, which includes annual maintenance. Boots and jackets can be provided for £20 for each Parish Worker. Currently there are 411 Parish workers.
We would love to be able to resource as many of our brothers and sisters as we can. Thank you for joining with us.
