Michael’s Story – Why We BBQ
This year marks our 8th BBQ Fundraiser, and it means more than ever.
Back in October 2024, I had the chance to visit the Ten Foundations Livelihood Centre in Balayan, Philippines. It was right in the middle of Typhoon Kristine. That experience showed me just how important the Livelihood Programme really is. It’s more than just a workspace. When it reopened just a few days later, the energy was back and the resilience shone through, women returning to their sewing machines, getting back to work. You could feel the pride in what they were doing.
That’s the heartbeat of Ten Foundations... it's about giving people the skills, tools, and confidence to earn a living, even in the toughest conditions.
Since 2012, the charity has helped hundreds of women support their families through a simple idea: teach someone a skill, and they can build their own future. The schoolbags made in Balayan are sold here in Northern Ireland. Every Bag Carries Hope.
This year, our BBQ is all about supporting the Livelihood Programme, helping it grow, reach more women, and weather whatever storms come next.
So join us on Saturday 2nd August for a night of great BBQ food, live music, a cracking raffle (donations welcome!), and the return of The TenFoun-tinis Cocktail Bar.
Even if you're unable to attend, any donation will go a long way!
Thanks for being part of it.
