Ivydale’s story

Dear parents/carers
The Ivydale Gardening Squad formed earlier this year and so far our wonderful volunteers have completed planting of native hedge species and climbing plants such as clematis, to both provide a screen for the playground and also a haven for birds and insects. We’ve also cleared the small garden area beside the Bellwood playground and supported the planting of new trees.
We want to do more, but (as many of you know!) gardening doesn't come for free.
We're asking each of you now if you could spare a few pounds to the cause - we'd like to raise at least £350 if we can!
£150 to purchase wood chips to deal with the weeds* next to our hedglings, and £200 to purchase a new gate so that we can access the Bellwood garden to allow for sustainable watering. If we raise any extra funds they will all go towards plants and/or equipment for the Ivydale gardening efforts.
Thank you for sparing whatever you can.
The Gardening Squad
*We have investigated having wood chips donated from a local tree surgeon, however this is logistically very difficult given school restrictions.
