Emily’s story
This September I am challenging myself to run 22milesish and complete RatRace man vs mountain! The event is on the 2nd of September which marks the start of childhood cancer awareness month.
I wanted to fundraise this year for a charity that has supported my friend Becky, her family and her incredible daughter Etta who is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia.
Becky chose this small and very local charity as they help support families by covering fuel costs, food costs and other day to day costs, also supplying toys.
‘Ollie’s heroes’ is for families in east Anglia and they would like to help with costs of living in hospital, travelling to and from, parking or just to provide some relief and entertainment to the families and also to help bereaved children who have lost brothers or sisters to this awful disease’ and have supported nearly 200 families so far.
Ollie’s heroes is a small charity which was created in memory of Ollie who gained his wings on September 3rd 2015 after bravely battling leukaemia for 5 years.
