Louie’s story
Hi, I am Louie (10) and I am a Scout with 1st EBE Scout Group.
I will be hiking up Snowdon with my Mum and Brother on 25th July 25 and would like to raise some money to help rebuild the Scout Hut for 1st Eton Bray & Edlesborough Scouts, so we have a permanent home for years to come.
The hike is approx 9 miles / 14.5km
Ascent: 975m and will take between 5.5 – 7 hours.
This will be a challenge for me, but will be worth it to say I have climbed Snowdon and made money for my Scout group along the way!
The Scout Hut has been closed for repair since July 2023 when the concrete sub floor failed and required digging out and rebuilding. This meant removing all internal walls, bathrooms and kitchen, laying a new interior floor throughout and rebuilding the interior structure.
We have been fortunate to receive grants to get us to the stage of having a new sub-floor but we have a long way to go, we need new plumbing, wiring, bathrooms, and kitchen
