I will be taking on a challenging mountain hike to raise funds for Pitt Hopkins UK
Pitt‑Hopkins syndrome is an ultra‑rare, lifelong genetic neurological condition that causes severe developmental delay, little or no speech, breathing abnormalities, epilepsy and complex medical needs, placing huge emotional and practical strain on families. Pitt Hopkins UK, a fantastic cause nominated by a colleague whose child suffers form the condition, is the only charity in the UK dedicated specifically to supporting children and adults with this condition. Run largely by parents, it connects families who would otherwise feel isolated, provides trusted medical information, raises awareness among healthcare professionals to improve diagnosis and care, and works to support future research into problems associated with the syndrome. Donations help ensure families are not left to face Pitt‑Hopkins alone and that hope, understanding and support continue to grow across the UK.
This challenge involves climbing to the summit of a mountain, testing both physical endurance and mental resilience while navigating steep terrain and long distances.
Taking part in a charity hike is more than just an outdoor adventure—it’s an opportunity to make a real difference. Events like these combine personal achievement with fundraising, turning every step into support for those in need.
Throughout the journey, I will be pushing myself outside my comfort zone, training in advance, and committing to completing the climb regardless of the challenges along the way.
