Andrew’s story
Welcome to our Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR) 2025 page - Team 2 (Andrew Howorth & Rich Crewe-Read)
The RBRR is held every TWO years and has been running since 1966 and this will be the 29th. It has been a significant fund raiser for many charities over the years with a different one being selected each time.
It is Andrew's 12th consecutive RBRR and Rich's 2nd - he's just a beginner!! It will definitely be a fun, tiring and demanding event for both of us and the car.
We are doing the run in Andrew's 1971 GT6 MK3, which will be the 5th time for the car - fingers crossed she performs as well this time. At the time of writing there are approx. 95 teams entered in this years RBRR. Our aim is to raise £3,000 for Parkinson's UK, and with the other teams hope that Club Triumph can generate a substantial amount for a much deserving charity, which relies entirely on donations.
The start is from Knebworth House on Friday 3rd October at about 6pm and we drive for the next 48 hours covering a distance of approx. 2000 miles. The aim is to arrive in John O'Groats at about 8am Saturday morning, Lands End at a similar time on Sunday morning and then back to Knebworth for Sunday evening and a well deserved pint!!
We spend the whole weekend, apart from the control stops, in the car so no comfy overnight stops in hotels, so if you're not driving, navigating or sight seeing, you're hopefully grabbing some much needed sleep. Fortunately the majority of the route is non-motorway so let's hope the October weather treats us kindly as there are some fantastic driving roads and views in the daylight hours.
Please note that we pay all our own costs/expenses, fuel, food, spare parts etc, so 100% of the donations made go directly to Parkinson's UK via the Wonderful website.
Wish us luck and please donate as much as you can to this much deserved charity.
Thanks very much - Andrew & Rich (Car 2)
