Mark & Karen’s story
Kirima gives children the education they need to escape from a cycle of poverty, providing nursery, primary, secondary and college education and supporting children into their adult lives.
We work in Kanungu, a rural region of Uganda where people earn far below the national average of £2 per day. Most families rely on subsistence farming to survive.
When Karen and Mark visit Uganda, we are welcomed by lovely, smiling children. It is great to watch as they grow in self confidence and gain the knowledge they will need for paid employment, so they can support their families and benefit the wider community. Education also delays the age at which girls get pregnant.
This year, to get the funds we need to build on our work, a small group of UK supporters will walk 800 miles between us. We will start with a ten mile walk on 31st August 2024 from Highgate to Trafalgar Square. Karen and Mark will each walk 100 miles over the next month.
So please give something if you can. A donor has promised to double whatever you contribute, and gift aid will add more, so giving £40 will let us send £100 to Uganda where it will achive such a lot.

From the children in Uganda, thank you for your help :)
